The center is not a person but a set of values reimagined in three generations of leadership. Succession is passing those values to the next generation.
We're now into our third leadership team. When Hans left, there was no debate about whether the center should continue, and that's, I think, a significant accomplishment.
He kept saying all the time over the five years, go and do what you want to do.
We have shifted from a one director structure to a distributed leadership structure. We say this all the time, the center is the network… the network is going to continue no matter what.
